About this Project
The project Learning Outcomes and Curriculum Development in Physiotherapy was undertaken by a team led by Professor Joan McMeeken from the School of Physiotherapy at The University of Melbourne. It was funded by the Australian Universities Teaching Committee, which was superseded by the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2005.
In 2004, the project team evaluated the teaching and learning of physiotherapy throughout Australia and gained feedback from employers about their level of satisfaction with recent graduates. Team members held focus group discussions with students, recent graduates and university staff in five universities, and talked to employers in three locations. They also consulted with Heads of Schools of Physiotherapy and with Australian and international experts in physiotherapy education. The findings of the project are published in the Project Report.
Ten Australian Schools of Physiotherapy contributed examples of good teaching practice developed by their staff. These are displayed on this website.
